Astrology and your Career
Woman are doing it all these days. Why? Because we can. Because we want to. Because it is part of our healing. We have families, jobs, careers, hobbies, exercise programs, relationships, friendships, group activities, charities organizations etc.. etc…etc. We want it all.
The other day I was watching an old Oscar-winning movie called, All About Eve. Essentially, this movie was made in the 1950’s when woman’s values were much different than they are today. In lieu of that, I found this one scene particularly intriguing. Bette Davis was reflecting on the careers of Woman. She says, and I am quoting, Funny business a woman’s career. The things you drop on your way up the ladder so you can move faster. You forget you’ll need them again when you get back to being a woman. It’s one career females all have in common whether we like it or not – is being a woman. Sooner or later we’ve got to work at it. No matter how many other careers we’ve had or wanted?
I played that particular scene over and over. I was fascinated. I was enlightened to think about being a woman as a career. I decided to look up the word career in the dictionary. There were many definitions of career. The word I was drawn to was calling. This seemed a more ancient way of looking at what we choose to do in the world. We are “called” or summoned, perhaps.
So, what is the “call” of being a woman? Bette Davis eludes to it as being about relationship. No matter how hard you climb up the ladder of success, be careful because you may forget how important all relationships are.
Our Natal charts reveal to each of us what our souls are learning and working on. This is revealed very specifically in our chart. Everyone’s path is very unique. There are many paths. Each path is as individual as the person. It is different, vast, and varied for everyone. Each person has a different story and a different pattern. I am constantly intrigued by each soul’s specific and detailed journey.
But what is truly the most significant career that we have? After you find your career path and your relationship path, what is the common thread that we share? I think Bette Davis says it so clearly, No matter what you do or how successful you become you will always be a woman! This is a career! A calling from the soul. It is a special career. One that requires a deep acceptance. Don’t forget to nurture that along with your career and your relationships with others. Whether you like it or not you are a woman. Celebrate it! Enjoy it! Read books on it. Go to woman’s groups, honor your body, and honor other woman. Realize that you belong to one of the most sacred groups on this planet -Womanhood.
How does this work in astrology, career and relationship? In astrology, a chart is divided into 12 different segments called Houses. Each House has to do a different area of your life. The House of relationships is your 7th House and the House of your career is the 10th House. What are the qualities that you desire in a relationship? What are the specific elements in your career you enjoy? Is it possible to understand these part of your life more clearly? Are you under a cycle where these particular parts of your life are being emphasized?
These are but a few of the vast interpretations that go on in an astrological reading with me. As an astrologer my job is to help you understand and interpret your astrological chart while at the same time remaining acutely aware of your womanhood. You as a woman have a unique sense of intuition that you bring to the reading. My goal is to empower you to become aware of your soul’s path through your chart.
Astrology shows you that there is a blueprint for your life (the astrological chart). At the same time you have choice. YOU choose what to do with the information that is given to you. Therefore it is not fortune telling. It doesn’t tell you that you will meet the person of your dreams or inherit money from a long lost relative. Astrology is an instrument of self understanding. A tool.
So, as you move through the world and when you come for a reading, bring your womanhood, your intuition and the sacred connection you have already developed with yourself. Together we can explore your life through your astrological chart and deepen the sense of your life’s path. I look forward to meeting you.
