Full Moon Thursday, January 12th, 2017
Happy New Year! Mercury went direct this past week, and a Full Moon happens Thursday, January 12th, I feel really excited about 2017 and all it will bring!
As I have written in many of my teachings, Full Moon Cycles are Power cycles! This means that whatever you have been focused on these past two weeks is coming to fruition. It is time to feel the “fullness” with what you have been doing!
The Full Moon will be in the sign Cancer. This sign helps to remind us how to nurture and protect ourselves through the realm of feeling! You may find yourself “feeling” a lot in these next few days. That is awesome! This is a very powerful cycle to ask yourself what you “really need.” So….. what do you NEED??
The sign of Cancer has always been associated with home, family, mother, and the realm of feelings. It is a water sign and therefore deeply committed to the realm of movement, the energy of the feminine, and most importantly managing and paying attention to your feelings. The endpoint of the Cancer energy is about finding a way to shed your outer protective shell of armor that may be numbing you to the world, and open up to your vulnerability and intuitive senses!
Because the Full Moon creates an oppositional energy between the Sun and the Moon we also must also look at the energy of the Sun to manage this cycle.
The Sun is in Capricorn, which is the energy of all practical earthy qualities that exist within life. It is the energy of self-sufficiency, solitude, goal setting and effective strategies that will help you to achieve whatever you set your mind to. Capricorn is about integrity and the highest expression of that concept. Staying “integrated” with the self, and finding a way to accomplish your goals is very much the heart of Capricorn energy.
The Full Moon is about blending these two opposing energies. This could look like nurturing and healing yourselves through the Cancer energy, but also blend that with the Capricorn energy of accomplishing your goals through your deepest integrity. Working to maintain both an honest assessment of how you feel with practical and extremely effective strategies to accomplish whatever is in front of you RIGHT NOW is the endpoint of this Full Moon
Since all growth in life is indicated by some type of obstacle, this Full Moon cycles suggests that you look at BOTH what you need as well as what is within your integrity and is also highly practical.
Here are some suggestions for this Full Moon!
- Be honest about your feelings with YOURSELF. PERIOD.
- Set boundaries if you need to feel safe.
- If you are feeling more vulnerable with someone and need to tell them how you are feeling because that will make you feel good… do it!
- If you want to buy something, and you FEEL to do it, do it.
- If it is not practical and you are ALWAYS being practical, go with how you really feel anyway.
- Or be practical. Save your money. With Integrity!!
- Rest. Rejuvenate. Heal…. but most of all….. allow yourself to feel, and then take appropriate and heartfelt action on those feelings.
